Why Hypnosis Works
Most poor eating habits are tied to emotions, and both habits and emotions reside in the subconscious. Hypnosis is one of the most successful ways of attaining lasting weight loss because it is the easiest and quickest way to the subconscious mind. By working directly with the subconscious, a hypnotist helps you release and resolve the deep emotional issues at the heart of a poor relationship with food, and at the same time helps you to establish the good habits necessary for weight loss.
You know by now that fads, fasts, and yo-yo diets are not the answer. Long-term studies indicate hypnosis is one of the most powerful and effective methods for weight management.
Why Willpower Doesnt Work
Weve all been taught that it takes willpower in order to make big changes in our lives. The problem with this idea is that willpower is a function of the conscious mind. As weve seen, the habits and emotions which lead to weight problems reside in the subconscious mind (we hardly ever choose to eat poorly or to react to anger or sadness with sweets).
Therefore, using willpower (the conscious mind) to change a habit or control an emotion (in the subconscious mind) is like using the wrong tool for the job. In fact, the more often you rely on willpower and the more often it fails, the less success youll expect of yourself. If it hasnt worked in the past, it probably wont work now, right?
How Many Sessions Does It Take?
Three to five. The first is an hour-long evaluative session during which I explain what hypnosis is and how it will help you develop a successful relationship with food, and answer any of your questions. I will never pressure anyone into following through with the process. Your desires and motivations reside in your subconscious mind, and thats an area only you can choose to change.
During the first meeting well also do a short hypnosis session to introduce you to the wonderful restorative nature of the trance state. If you decide you want to follow through, well make the second appointment, usually about one week later. Before the second session I ask you to listen to a hypnosis relaxation tape to familiarize you with my voice and the trance state.
We'll space the subsequent sessions approximately one week apart, going through various exercises in hypnosis to achieve the solid, measurable results you're expecting.
What Does It Cost?
Sessions are $135.00, lasting about 1 hour, and include free recordings of each session as well as instruction in self-hypnosis.
How Successful Is It?
Hypnosis is always successful for weight loss! By attending to the emotional issues at their root level, by creating new habits, by changing attitudes at their source, and by reinforcing your motivation with tools from our sessions I promise that you will develop a new healthy relationship with food that leads to weight loss..
Can YOU Lose Weight Using Hypnosis?
You can change your life with the power of your own subconscious mind. There are five components necessary to induce hypnosis:
- Motivation
You must want to be hypnotized and make changes in your life. Remember, hypnosis cannot be projected onto you by someone. Its an agreement between you and your hypnotist to work toward your goals.
- Relaxation
You must allow yourself to become relaxed; that means you must be willing to let go. Under hypnosis you never lose control, you just gain more control over your life!
- Concentration
Under hypnosis all external distractions are tuned out and your ability to concentrate is heightened.
- Imagination
You must be willing to use your imagination freely and visualize the outcome you desire.
- Suggestion
Under hypnosis your subconscious mind is highly suggestible and you are able to replace negative behaviors or self-talk by suggesting new, positive alternatives.
A person with a commitment to making a change is the ideal candidate for hypnosis!
By the way...
In 1995 a single 2-hour session with a hypnotist saved my life, curing me of an eating disorder that 12 years of traditional therapies had failed to do. Since then Ive been promoting, studying and practicing this life-changing art.
