Why Hypnosis Works
Many of the greatest athletes of all time have used hypnosis to improve their game. Tiger Woods has been using self-hypnosis since he was 12; Michael Jordan said in an interview that he shot more baskets in his mind than on the court. Hypnosis, self-talk, visualization -- all are part of what makes great athletes great because they know that how you mentally prepare for victory determines as large a part of the outcome as your physical preparedness.
The Mind Does Not Always Know the Difference Between a Real and Imagined Experience
An experimental study on free throw shooting was conducted n 1989. Subjects were place into three groups:
Group A: Practiced free throws every day for 20 minutes
Group B: Did not practice free throws at all
Group C: Practiced mental free throws every night for 20 minutes.
The results were as follows:
Group A: Increased their free-throw percentages by 24%.
Group B: Saw no increase in free-throw averages.
Group C: Increased their free-throw percentages by 23%.
Group C practiced ONLY in their minds -- not on the court. That's a pretty astonishing improvement considering no actual physical practice was involved! Why does visualization (self-hypnosis) create so impressive a success rate? Because when you physically practice free throws, occasionally you will miss. When you practice in your mind, you ALWAYS do it successfully!
Any Sport is First and Foremost a Mental Game
Archery, chess, football, running marathons... regardless of whether it's a team sport, a one-on-one against an opponent, a match of wits and concentration, or even a race against your own personal best -- your mental attitude and mental preparedness plays a huge part in your success. For members of a team (cheerleaders, bridge players, baseball, basketball, hockey or football palyers), anticipating your teammates' moves is as important as outplaying your opponent.
With Hypnosis You Can:
Increase your chances for scholarship money if you're a student, make your sport fun again, avoid injuries and overcome the fear of injury, intimidate your opponent, improve balance, coordination and focus, become a more consistent winner, create positive expectations, improve eye-hand coordination, work better as a team, remove negative imprints, and much, much more!
How Many Sessions Does It Take?
Three to five. The first is an hour-long evaluative session during which I explain what hypnosis is and how it will help you meet your goals. Ill answer your questions and help you see how the power of your mind is the real agent of change.
Also during the first meeting well do a short hypnosis session to introduce you to the powerful creative nature of the trance state. I'll teach you self-hypnosis and give you specific exercises to practice (mentally). Before the second session I may also ask you to do a few things to get ready, one of which is to listen to a hypnosis/relaxation tape to familiarize you with my voice and the trance state.
We'll space the subsequent sessions approximately one week apart, going through various exercises in hypnosis to achieve the solid, measurable results you're expecting. Youll receive your own private recording of these sessions. Its a very important part of the process that you listen to the tape every day for at least the next three weeks to reinforce the suggestions. Most people choose to listen to the tape as they fall asleep.
Whats The Success Rate?
The success rate is directly proportional to your motivation to achieve peak performance, consistently.
What Does It Cost?
Sessions are $135.00, lasting about 1 hour, and include free recordings of each session as well as instruction in self-hypnosis.
Can YOU Really Improve Your Game with Hypnosis?
You can change your life with the power of your own subconscious mind. There are five components necessary to induce hypnosis:
- Motivation
You must want to be hypnotized and make changes in your life. Remember, hypnosis cannot be projected onto you by someone. Its an agreement between you and your hypnotist to work toward your goals.
- Relaxation
You must allow yourself to become relaxed; that means you must be willing to let go. Under hypnosis you never lose control, you just gain more control over your life!
- Concentration
Under hypnosis all external distractions are tuned out and your ability to concentrate is heightened.
- Imagination
You must be willing to use your imagination freely and visualize the outcome you desire.
- Suggestion
Under hypnosis your subconscious mind is highly suggestible and you are able to replace negative behaviors or self-talk by suggesting new, positive alternatives.
A person with a commitment to making a change is the ideal candidate for hypnosis!
By the way...
I recently helped a high school diver, who in his own words was "just okay." He helped his team on to the State Finals, and received scholarship money to attend a New York State School!
I also helped a golfer, who after 3 sessions began to consistently shave strokes off of his game. He refuses to tell his partners how he has improved because he doesn't want the competition!
